QuarkChain Bi-weekly Project Progress Report: Jan.26 – Feb.06, 2019

Posted on 02/07/201906/11/2019 by QuarkChain

Welcome to the 24th QuarkChain Bi-weekly Report for the period from Jan. 26 to Feb.06.

1.Development Progress

Launched Testnet 2.4 (network ID 24) on Feb. 1! In addition to the features in previous testnets, e.g., PoW mining, token transfers, the new network starts testing the following new features.

  • Chain ID — Each chain can be individually configured (e.g., consensus algorithm, number of shards, VM) and new chains can be added into the network dynamically. Chain IDs can be obtained from https://testnet2.quarkchain.io/stats.
  • Multi-native token transfer — Multi-native tokens can be requested on the faucet page (https://testnet2.quarkchain.io/faucet) and transferred through the wallet (https://testnet2.quarkchain.io/wallet).
  • Proof of Staked Work — This will allow miners to mine blocks with much less difficulty if they lock certain amount of tokens in their accounts.

More details about testnet 2.4 can be found at https://github.com/QuarkChain/pyquarkchain/wiki/Testnet-2.4-Overview

2. New Article about Cross-Shard Transaction

In this article, Dr. Zhou presented the cross-shard transaction details of QuarkChain. He discussed how QuarkChain achieves atomicity, security, scalability, and addresses the hot-shard problem. In the next article, he will discuss more details about the implementation of QuarkChain to enable high-performance nodes, via clustering. 3. Developer Bounty Program

Since inception, QuarkChain has achieved many milestones. It has been almost 2 months since QuarkChain testnet 2.0 launched and runs stably. In order to further enhance QuarkChain network security, offer the highest level of security of users’ property, and make QuarkChain the most secure project, we officially announced “Developer Bounty Program”. For details please click: Developer Bounty Program.
